CCAT Logic Practice Questions
Updated November 2, 2026
Logic questions appear in the math and logic area of the CCAT, and logic and attention to detail show up in the verbal area too. They ask you to draw a conclusion from a few statements, put people or things in order, spot a pattern in letters, or compare two strings that look almost the same.
The 15 questions below are original practice in the style of the CCAT. They aren’t real CCAT questions. The first six use the common “true, false or uncertain” format; the rest have five choices.
Quick approaches
- True, false or uncertain: assume the first two statements are true, and ask whether the third must follow. If it could go either way, it’s uncertain. Don’t bring in outside knowledge.
- Ordering and seating: jot a quick line (A > B > C) or a row of slots. Place the fixed facts first, such as “sits at the left end.”
- Letter series: turn letters into their positions in the alphabet (A = 1, B = 2 …) and look at the gaps.
- Attention to detail: compare in small chunks, two or three characters at a time, rather than reading the whole string.
- Codes: work out the rule on the example word, then apply it letter by letter.
CCAT logic practice questions
-
Assume the first two statements are true. "All of the managers attended the meeting. Kim is a manager." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "Kim attended the meeting."Answer: AEvery manager attended, and Kim is a manager, so Kim must have attended.
-
Assume the first two statements are true. "Tom is taller than Raj. Raj is taller than Lee." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "Lee is taller than Tom."Answer: BThe order from tallest is Tom, Raj, Lee. Lee is the shortest, so the statement is false.
-
Assume the first two statements are true. "Some of the drivers are trainees. All of the trainees wear blue badges." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "Some of the drivers do not wear blue badges."Answer: CThe drivers who are trainees wear blue badges. Nothing says what the other drivers wear, and all of the drivers might be trainees, so you can't tell.
-
Assume the first three statements are true. "Every store in the chain closes at 9 p.m. on Sundays. The Elm Street store is part of the chain. Today is Sunday." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "The Elm Street store closes at 9 p.m. today."Answer: AThe rule covers every store in the chain on Sundays, the Elm Street store is in the chain, and today is Sunday, so the statement must be true.
-
Assume the first two statements are true. "Box A weighs more than Box B. Box C weighs less than Box B." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "Box C is the heaviest of the three."Answer: BFrom heaviest to lightest, the order is Box A, then Box B, then Box C. Box C is the lightest, so the statement is false.
-
Assume the first two statements are true. "No interns have a key to the office. Jordan does not have a key to the office." Is this statement true, false or uncertain: "Jordan is an intern."Answer: CAll interns lack a key, but other people might lack one too. Jordan could be an intern or anyone else without a key, so you can't tell.

Five runners finished a race. Eli finished first. Ana finished ahead of Ben, Ben finished ahead of Carla, and Carla finished ahead of Dev. Who finished third?Answer: DEli is first, and the rest of the order is Ana, Ben, Carla, Dev. That puts Ana second and Ben third.
-
What letter comes next in the series: B, D, G, K, P, ...?Answer: EAs alphabet positions, the letters are 2, 4, 7, 11 and 16. The gaps grow by one each time (2, 3, 4, 5), so the next gap is 6: 16 + 6 = 22, which is V.
-
If 5 machines take 5 minutes to make 5 parts, how long would 100 machines take to make 100 parts?Answer: DEach machine makes one part in 5 minutes. With 100 machines working at once, 100 parts still take 5 minutes.
-
Which pair is exactly the same?Answer: AOnly 4829-LKQ matches itself exactly. Each of the other pairs has two characters swapped, either in the letters or in the digits.
-
Which number does NOT belong with the others?Answer: E16, 25, 36 and 49 are square numbers (4, 5, 6 and 7 multiplied by themselves). 56 isn't a square number.
-
